A quick snap from Manchester Orchestra tonight for anyone still awake. Such a weird night. Lighters were out during the bridge of the opening song (“Shake It Out”). Seriously. Manchester played a lengthy, essentially flawless set, but it was tough to enjoy myself with all the bros and their trashy girlfriends around us. Maybe it was just my perception. Who knows. The atmosphere was just strange and unpleasant. In a different setting, in a different mindset, the show could have been amazing, but there were just too many distractions for me tonight. Like I said, not at all the band’s fault. They were incredible. Not to mention An Horse, who I saw perform twice today, counting an in-store at Vintage Vinyl. Good bands, bizarre night. Don’t know what else to say.
For anyone wondering about the setlist, here’s what I can remember, as much in order as I can manage. Shake It Out, Pride, 100 Dollars, In My Teeth, Wolves At Night, Now That You’re Home, April Fool, My Friend Marcus, I Can Barely Breathe, Pensacola (first time played live, I believe), Everything To Nothing, Colly Strings, Simple Math, The Only One, I’ve Got Friends, Holland 1945, Where Have You Been.
